Two-man handling is top sport
Two-man handling is top sport, it demands a lot more from the drivers and is a real specialisation. Deliveries to end customers often involve furniture, household appliances and kitchens.
Here, a high level of service and care must be provided. It is usually not just about delivery, but also about unpacking, assembly, installation and even the return of packaging material.
A delivery is successful when the end customer has enjoyed a seamless, stress-free premium experience because the products have been delivered and set up smoothly.
In two-man handling, communication is key. Communication between the office environment and the drivers, but also between the driver and the end customer.
Drivers are increasingly the only physical contact an end customer has with a supplier, and that contact has to be positive. It's nice when the driver who installs a bed in your bedroom looks fresh and is friendly. It takes the right people and guidance from the transport company.
It is also good if the driver knows all the agreements that have been made and what to do if something is wrong. Or if, for example, he can use the right assembly instructions when assembling something he doesn't do that often. That's where software is needed that supports the process optimally.
